I have a room in my basement about 10×10 feet. I house my birds in cages that are about 18x18x18 inches. They have dividers between each, so I can take out the dividers and make the cages 18x18x36 long. I also have a flight cage 30×60 and 7 feet high.
I use wood nest boxes hanging on the outside of the cage, approximately 5x5x5 inches for finches and 6x6x6 for budgies. I use full spectrum LED lighting with a timer to give 12 to 15 hours of light a day.
